The TASTIEST Wonton Ever! Sweet, Savory, Salty, & Spicy!

1 lb Chopped Meat
35 Wonton Squares
1 Small Onion
A Bunch of Green Onions (about 6)
4 Cloves of Roughly Chopped Garlic
Dash or Two of Ginger Powder
1 tbs Canola Oil
2 tbs Soy Sauce
1/2 tbs Sesame Oil
1 tsp Sugar
1 tbs Dijon Mustard or 1 tbs Mayonnaise
4 Squirts Cholula Hot Sauce

Finely chop onion & green onions and add to skillet. (Leave about 2 tsp of green onions for garnish later.) Add 1 tbs canola oil and sauté the onions until golden, about 5 minutes.

Add chopped garlic and chopped meat to pan. Cook meat through. Season with ginger powder and salt.

In a big bowl, add soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar. Mix to create a light sauce.

Add the meat to the sauce and mix. Let it cool off before you start filling your wontons.

Fill your wonton wrapper with 2 tsp meat and seal the edges using water to ‘glue’ it together. I like to pinch all the edges together and fold them under to create a ball shape. One side should be ruffled and one side should be smooth.

Heat the skillet and add wontons ruffled side down and cover the pan. Steam the dumplings for 2 minutes or until the bottom is crispy. Flip the wonton and cook 1 more minute.

Serve with green onions and spicy sauce!

Spicy Sauce:

Mix 1 tbs Dijon Mustard or Mayonnaise with 4 squirts of Cholula Hot Sauce.

Patti I’m trying these this week! Any tips or tricks??? They look insanely good!

    • Yay!
Don’t over-fill the wonton because then you’ll have a hard time closing it. Also, when closing it, I like to put all the ends together (kind of smush them all together) and have one side ruffled, and one side smooth and round. To keep them together, I use water and I lay them ruffle side down on a tray while I make the others.
Let me know how they come out!

Recipe tasted great!!!! I skipped the dipping sauce bc I don’t like spicy, but they were still delish, had a few technical issues with the wontons, but I think I bought the wrong kind…. Will probably try again! Thanks!
